Lake Lanier water level causes problems for boaters

It is the by-product of a Lake Lanier that is at full pool: the operators of some larger boats say recent rains have filled Lanier to such a level that they can’t drive their boats under the Wahoo Creek Bridge on Mount Vernon Road in northern Hall County.

The Corps of Engineers says Lanier is at its full pool of 1,071 feet. The bridge sits at 1,078 feet.

The bad news for the boaters: there is more rain in this week's forecast, which could raise that Lake Lanier water level even higher.
