There is word of a lawsuit in Barrow County, a suit filed against the police department in Statham: former Statham Police Officer Mark Lofton, who was just dismissed from his job as a sheriff’s deputy in Lumpkin County, left Statham after allegedly falsifying DUI arrests. A woman who was arrested on drunk driving charges that were later dismissed is suing the Statham Police Department.
Statham Police Chief Alan Johnston is named in the suit.
