Local government briefs include meetings in Watkinsville, Danielsville, and Jefferson

Today marks the start of winter break for students and teachers in the Clarke and Oconee County school districts. Classes resume on January 4 in Oconee County and on January 6 in the schools in Clarke County.

The Oconee County Planning Commission meets tonight, 7 o’clock at the Oconee County courthouse in Watkinsville.

Madison County Commissioners hold their final meeting of the year tonight, 6 o’clock this evening at the Madison County Government Complex in Danielsville. Work on the County budget headlines the business agenda. Their Jackson County counterparts convene, also at 6, at the courthouse in Jefferson.

There is an evening meeting of the Bowman City Council, a 7 o’clock session at the Community Center in Bowman.
