There is tax talk today in Athens: the committee that is providing oversight for projects funded by this year’s transportation sales tax meets just after 5 o’clock at Athens City Hall.

With an Oconee County school year that is set to start on August 2, there is an evening meeting of the Oconee County School Board: the Board convenes at 6 o’clock at School District offices on School Street in Watkinsville.
Today is a ribbon-cutting day in Oconee County, with a 3 o’clock ceremony to mark the completion of work on the new Dove Creek Middle School. The school on Hog Mountain Road will welcome students on the August 2 first day of school in Oconee County.
