Local government notes include BOE sessions in Watkinsville, Elberton

There is an evening meeting of the Oconee County School Board, a 6 o’clock session at School District headquarters on School Street in Watkinsville.

The Oglethorpe County Zoning Board meets this evening, 6 o’clock at the Oglethorpe County courthouse in Lexington.

A proposal to merge the magistrate and probate courts in Elbert County could be up for a vote at today’s meeting of the Elbert County Commission. The plan, presented as a money-saving measure, would have to be approved by the Georgia legislature.

Commissioners meet at 5:30 at the Government Complex in Elberton. An Elbert County School Board meeting is on tap for today, underway at 5:30 at School District offices in Elberton.
