A Madison County man was killed in a Tuesday afternoon car vs motorcycle crash in Athens. Athens-Clarke County Police are investigating the accident that claimed the life of the motorcycle rider, 47 year-old John Morton. The wreck happened on Highway 106 near the Madison County line.
Two people from South Carolina are behind bars after a high-speed chase that ended in Commerce: Commerce Police say 35 year-old Henry Gerlach and 30 year-old Sheba Floyd were caught with drugs after the police pursuit along I-85 in Banks and Jackson counties. Investigators say the two were in a car that had been reported stolen.
Two more suspects in this week’s home invasion robbery in north Hall County have been arrested, with Gainesville Police, at last report, still trying to track down at least three more. Police say shots were fired in the robbery that led to a police pursuit and the theft of a boat from a boat dock in Hall County, a boat that was later recovered.
