The Athens-Clarke County Coroner's Office says Reginald Echols died overnight Monday: Echols was badly burned in the weekend fire that damaged the Bulldog Inn on Commerce Road in Athens. The blaze gutted units of the motel in the early morning hours of Saturday.
Echols was 42 years old.
Athens-Clarke County firefighters were, at last report, still searching for the cause of the deadly blaze.
