After a break on Sunday, there is more rain and the chance for thunderstorms in the forecast for Athens and northeast Georgia. Strong winds and heavy rains hammered the region Saturday, while tornado touchdowns have been confirmed in parts of west Georgia.
The Jefferson-based Jackson EMC says it sent 16 electrical workers to Blue Ridge after weekend storms: they worked to restore electricity in Fannin County.
