NE Ga police blotter includes arrest of homeless man in Elberton

A homeless man is arrested on theft and assault charges in Elberton: the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office says 44 year-old Michael Powell faces felony counts and was, at last report, being held on a $27 thousand bond at the Elbert County Detention Center.

Drug agents in White County say they have arrested five people on drug charges. Suspects from Gainesville and Cleveland face charges that include methamphetamine possession and distribution. The White County Sheriff’s Office says its deputies also confiscated $15 thousand worth of stolen property.

Police in Sandy Springs are investigating two home invasions in Sandy Springs: both happened this past weekend; police want to know if they were the work of the same robbing crew. Five suspects have been arrested.
