A bicycle rider is killed in an accident on Tallassee Road in Athens. The man’s name has not been released. He is said to have been a 67 year-old white male. Athens-Clarke County Police are investigating.
Drug agents arrest five suspects in Stephens County: they are accused of trafficking methamphetamine and marijuana. The GBI, the FBI, and the DEA say the arrests came as part of a joint operation with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the police department in Toccoa.
The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a reported case of arson in Rabun County. A home and a workshop were destroyed in a fire in Rabun Gap.
