A teenager from Ellenwood is facing a long list of charges after a high speed police chase in Franklin County: the Georgia State Patrol says the car driven by 19 year-old Caylin Bell hit speeds of almost 100 miles per hour on I-85 before she was finally stopped by a State Patrol PIT maneuver. In her car was a 3 year-old child. State Troopers say there were no injuries.

The GBI says Shane Bentley faces charges that include forgery and theft: Bentley is a former assistant chief in the fire department in Cornelia. He was arrested after a police and GBI investigation into allegations of items stolen from the fire department in Habersham County.

Fired Doraville Police Officer Miles Bryant had a first court appearance Tuesday in Gwinnett County: he is charged with concealing a death and giving false statements about a crime, accusations leveled after last week’s discovery of the body of 16 year-old Susanna Morales. The body was found in Dacula, near the Barrow-Gwinnett County line. She had been reported missing last July, last heard from then while walking to her home in Norcross. Bryant is being held without bond in the Gwinnett County jail.
