The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting. 29 year-old Joseph Davis of Bowman has been arrested and charged after allegedly shooting a 28 year-old man in the arm.

Former Lumpkin County Sheriff Randy Pruitt was laid to rest after a Monday afternoon funeral: the 63 year-old Pruitt had been serving as the Chief Magistrate Judge in Dahlonega before his death late last week.

A Habersham County man has been killed in a fire: Johnny Higginbotham was 54 years old, from Demorest. He died in a blaze that burned a camper on Habersham Miles Road. The state Fire Marshal’s office will investigate.
