NE Ga police blotter: rape trial for former Bulldog, meth arrests in Elberton

Former Georgia Bulldog football player Bacarri Rambo will stand trial on a rape charge: the defensive back who last played for the Dogs in 2012 was arrested in June of last year and charged in a sexual assault that is said to have happened at an apartment on West Broad Street in Athens. Rambo pleaded not guilty earlier this week in Clarke County Superior Court.

She says she was detained by former Franklin County Commission Chairman Frank Bridges: former Franklin County Clerk Elaine Evans has filed a complaint that also names Bill Flowers, who headed the Franklin County Airport Authority. The allegations stem from an incident that happened two years ago during a dispute over her handling of Airport Authority finances.

There are methamphetamine trafficking charges for two men arrested in Toccoa: the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office says 44 year-old Bradley Ragsdale and 59 year-old Chris Swanson were arrested after a traffic stop in Toccoa.

It began as a missing person’s investigation of an 8-year-old autistic girl and tragically ends in a homicide. 8 year-old Amari Hall, an autistic child in Gwinnett County, was reported missing by her family in Peachtree Corners. Now her body has been found in DeKalb County and Gwinnett Police say her mother and her mother’s partner are facing murder charges.

There were Tuesday funerals for Justin Hicks and his wife Amber, services held at a church in Woodstock. Hicks, a firefighter in Cherokee County, and his wife were killed in their home in Acworth, allegedly by Michael Lanz, who is also suspected of stabbing and wounding a police officer in Sandy Springs.
