NE Ga police blotter; shooting in Lavonia, drug murder in Cleveland

Police are investigating a shooting in Franklin County: the victim, shot and wounded in Lavonia, is recovering at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. A suspect has been arrested and charged. Jamal Walker is 22 years old, from Lavonia.

A Hall County woman is accused of killing her 82 year-old fiancé and then living with the body for two months. Tabitha Wood is 45 years old, from Gainesville. Wood is jailed with no bail set in Hall County.

Martin Santillan gets four years in federal prison: the sentence was handed down in federal court in Gainesville. The Hall County man was convicted on child porn charges.

There are murder charges for a man in White County: 42 year-old Cory Seabolt of Cleveland is accused in the 2021 drug overdose death of Dylan Grizzle, also from Cleveland. Seabolt is also charged with trafficking in fentanyl.

The GBI has released the name of the suspect in the shooting that wounded a Gwinnett County deputy and a K9 officer. James Perkins is 34 years old. Police say he was driving a stolen SUV in Lawrenceville. He was himself shot and wounded and is hospitalized at Gwinnett Medical Center, at last report in critical condition. The injured deputy was treated and released.
