NE Ga police blotter: Toccoa shooting victims identified, Oakwood pedestrian killed by train

A 39 year-old Elberton man is in the Elbert County jail: charges against Jason McGee include kidnapping and sodomy and reportedly involve a child victim.

We have this morning the names of the two men shot and killed in a motel in Stephens County: police in Toccoa say they found 52 year-old Keith Tooley of Toccoa dead in one room at the Regency Inn on Curahee Street in Toccoa; officers say they shot 32 year-old Emil Mayfield when he refused police orders to put down his gun. Mayfield was also from Toccoa. The GBI is investigating.

A man from Hall County is arrested after a police chase in White County: Emmanuel Robinson is 30 years old, from Gainesville. White County Sheriff’s deputies say he sped away from a traffic stop. He’s facing a long list of counts that include reckless conduct.

Police in Oakwood say the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a freight train was walking on railroad tracks and wouldn’t get off as the train approached. Oakwood Police say their investigation is ongoing.

Police in Conyers are investigating after the discovery of a man who was found dead near Georgia International Horse Park. The body is said to be that of a young black male. There’s no word from authorities in Rockdale County on a possible cause of death.
