NE Ga police blotter: Walton Co man charged with shooting Morgan Co woman

A Walton County man is arrested after a shooting that sent a woman from Morgan County to a hospital: the Walton County Sheriff’s Office says Ricky Schubele faces charges that include aggravated assault.

Police in Winder say Heather Shackelford has been found and is safe: the Barrow County woman was reported missing from her home last week.

There is a heads-up for drivers in downtown Lavonia: a big stretch of Main Street is closed again today and problem for much of the rest of the week. The Police Chief in Lavonia says crews are doing construction work on several downtown buildings. Detours are in place.

We have this morning the name of the man whose body was found last week beneath a bridge in Gainesville: the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says there is still so far no word on a cause of death for 37 year-old Billie Davis, whose body was discovered near a homeless camp in Gainesville. Investigators do say his death has been classified as a homicide.

Police in Loganville are investigating a deadly double-shooting: the bodies of two people were found in a home in Loganville. Investigators say it appears to have been a case of murder-suicide.
