NE Ga police reports include hit-and-run arrest in Toccoa

A Stephens County man faces a murder charge after a deadly hit-and-run wreck: Rex Holbrooks (pictured) is 55 years old, from Toccoa. A 48 year-old woman, identified now as Janice Allen of Eastanollee, was killed in the March 30 wreck on Big Road in Toccoa.

A rape suspect is in the Hall County jail: James Evans is 32 years old, from Flowery Branch. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office says he’s facing sexual assault and child molestation allegations that date back to 2017.

Police in Gwinnett County are investigating what appears to have been a murder-suicide in Lawrenceville: a father and his daughter are dead, their bodies found in a park in Lawrenceville. Ignacio Ramos was 45 years old, Valeria Ramos was 11. Gwinnett Police investigators say it looks like he shot her and then turned his gun on himself.

Metro Atlanta has seen a rash of interstate shootings over the past month. The latest happened Tuesday morning on I-85 in Coweta County. That’s where a man wearing a black ski mask pulled alongside a woman’s car and opened fire. The woman was taken to Grady Hospital.
