Oconee County Schools get a new Chief Operating Officer: Dr. Ryan White has served as Oconee County Schools’ Director of Technology for the past five years.

Dr. Ryan White was named as the new Chief Operations Officer for Oconee County Schools on Monday.

White has served OCS as the Chief Technology Officer and the Director of Technology for the past five years. He has been an educator since 2008, working as a teacher, coach, and instructional technologist.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ryan White as the Chief Operations Officer,” Superintendent Jason Branch said. “I am confident he will advance the district’s operational goals and enhance the educational experience for students and staff. He has a wealth of experience and a proven track record of innovation.”

In his new role, White will oversee the directors of facilities, maintenance, school food nutrition, and transportation. He will supervise buildings and grounds maintenance, construction, and facility planning; manage contracts related to custodial and transportation services and supplies management; oversee nutrition to promote healthy eating habits and meet nutritional standards; and provide leadership and direction to ensure safe and efficient transportation services for students.

“I am deeply honored to have been chosen as the new Chief Operations Officer,” White said. “I am committed to contributing to the system’s success by driving operational excellence and fostering creativity. The operations team is a strong one, and I am excited to collaborate with them to continue a legacy of support and service.”
