Melissa Christian-Griffith, widow of murdered Athens-Clarke County Police Officer Buddy Christian, says she worked with the producer of a documentary on his life and his shooting death, a murder in 2011. She says she’s seen it, and she says the producers did an “amazing job.” The documentary is part of Investigation Discovery’s Evil Lives Here series.

About a year ago a Media company contacted me wanting to do a story about Buddy. I tried ignoring them, because these type of things usually don’t turn out how you want them too. Usually they spin the story to suit their story line and not yours. But they were very persistent even sending me a certified letter to make sure I saw it. So, I agreed to speak with them on the phone. Through this phone call it was evident that they were going to do the story with or without my help. So, I decided if anyone was going to tell Buddy’s story it was going to be me.
Well, the episode aired last night. I was really worried how it would all turn out, but just prayed that God’s light would shine through and that Buddy would be honored for his life he shared and gave for others.
I think they did an excellent job on the story. They tied everything together and really paid attention to detail. It was amazingly done!
I also wanted to do this story so that these memories would be preserved for the kids. We watched the episode together, and it was great because they could ask questions and we talked about things. It was good for them to see the things we have told them about and put it all together.
I couldn’t be more pleased with their hard work and making sure Buddy’s story was able to shine through.
