Oconee County says its blue bags are back: supply chain issues led to shortages of the Pay-As-You-Throw bags used for disposal of household wastes at Oconee County’s Recycling and Waste Centers. The County says the bags are again available for purchase.

From the Oconee Co government website...

Due to supply chain issues, it was becoming increasingly difficult to procure the custom magenta Pay-As-You-Throw bags used for disposing of household waste at Oconee County’s Recycling & Waste Centers.

The new standard blue bags are in stock as of December 8, 2021. These will also be available at area retailers.

The pricing is as follows:

  • New blue bags - $2.50
  • Remaining stock of small magenta bags - $2
  • Remaining stock of large magenta bags - $3

You are welcome to use either the blue bags or any remaining magenta bags you may have on hand.

Thank you for your patience as we have worked through our supply chain issues.
