Oconee Co looks to fill openings on boards

Oconee County Commissioners are looking to fill seats on the County’s DFACS Board and its Farmland Preservation Ranking Committee: application information is on the Oconee County government website. Deadline to apply is November 17.

The Oconee County Board of Commissioners is seeking citizen applicants for appointments to the following:

Oconee County Farmland Preservation Ranking Committee: One appointment to start January 1, 2024 and expire December 31, 2026. This committee is responsible for ranking Oconee County farms submitted for potential farmland preservation funds. Qualified applicants may have experience in the area of farming or agriculture, and farmland preservation. Meetings are held on an as-needed basis, generally concentrated in the months of July thru December.

Family and Children Services:  One appointment to start immediately and expire June 30, 2025.  Members advise and assist the Division of Family and Children Services (DFACS) and act as liaison to the public.  Meetings are held bi-monthly (January, March, May, July, September and November) on the third Thursday at 3:00 pm at the Oconee County DFACS Office, 1400 Greensboro Highway, Watkinsville.
