Oconee Co rated healthiest in Ga

A northeast Georgia County is ranked as one of the healthiest counties in the country. A nationwide analysis by U.S. News and World report has Oconee county ranked 76th overall and the healthiest county in Georgia. That’s up from 99th last year.

Researchers say they collected data on nearly 3,000 counties, looking at such factors as population health, equity, education, economy, food and nutrition, and the environment. Only 500 counties made the cut with Douglas County Colorado coming out on top.
