Pedestrian struck, killed in accident in Athens

Officials say a young child was shot and killed during a hunting accident Friday morning in Orangeburg County, South Carolina.

A man is killed in a vehicle vs pedestrian accident in Athens: it happened last night when the 78 year-old man was hit while walking on Danielsville Road. He’s identified as Jewell Jarrells. He’s the second pedestrian struck and killed this month in Athens: a woman died when she was hit by a car on Atlanta Highway.

The Georgia State Patrol has released the name of the man killed in last week’s vehicle vs pedestrian accident in Hall County: Anthony Oliver was 30 years old, from Buford. State Troopers say he was hit by a car while walking near Lanier Islands Parkway. The driver of the car—said to have been a 47 year-old woman from Sugar Hill—has not been charged in last Thursday night’s accident.
