Police name suspect in Roquan Smith theft case

Athens-Clarke County Police release the name of the suspect accused of breaking into the car of former Georgia Bulldog linebacker Roquan Smith and stealing items that included game jerseys worn by the Bulldog All-American and first round draft pick of the Chicago Bears.

Landyn Shane Durham, 20-year-old W/M was identified as the suspect in the Roquan Smith Entering Auto case. Warrants for felony Entering Auto were signed yesterday, and Durham turned himself into the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office soon after. Also, detectives learned of second entering auto. The second incident was from the same morning at The Mark apartment parking deck case# 2018-05100058. That vehicle was also an unlocked vehicle but belonged to a UGA lacrosse player, Austin Eiseman. Austin had several things taken including his UGA lacrosse jersey. The jersey was recovered during the search at 1030 #5 MLK Parkway, Athens.
