Police probe armed robbery in Athens; GSP investigates bus accident in Hall Co

Athens-Clarke County Police investigate a reported armed robbery: a man with a gun is said to have robbed a convenience store on Hull Road. It happened early Monday morning. No injuries were reported.

The Georgia Supreme Court has upheld the murder conviction of a man serving a life sentence for a 2017 murder in Gainesville: Marquis Studivant was found guilty in the murder of Dennis Gayton, who was shot and killed in what police in Gainesville say was a drug deal gone bad.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating an accident involving a Hall County School bus: a 16 year-old girl driving a car was injured in the accident that happened near Chestatee High School, suffering cuts and bruises to her face. There were five people on the bus. State Troopers say none of them were injured.

A Rabun County man faces charges that include first degree vehicular homicide: Chantz Ramey is 24 years old, from Clayton: he is charged in the August 8 hit-and-run wreck that claimed the life of 26 year-old Mario Webb, also of Clayton. Webb was struck by a truck driven by Ramey, hit while walking across Main Street in Clayton.
