Police probe home invasion, arrest drug suspects

Athens-Clarke County Police were, at last report, trying to track down a suspect in a reported home invasion: the armed robbery is said to have happened at a home on Fourth Street in Athens, where the victim says cash was stolen. The robber is described as a black male, in his early to mid-twenties, maybe 6 feet tall and 170 pounds, wearing a red shirt and a black bandana.

A drug suspect is arrested and booked into the Hall County jail: the Hall County Sheriff's Office says there are heroin possession charges for 39 year-old Kentrell Johnson. 

There are drug and weapons charges for a 32 year-old Dawsonville man: the Hall County Sheriff's Office says Jeffrey Sims was arrested after a traffic stop, caught with methamphetamine and a firearm. He was booked into the Hall County jail. 

Gainesville Police say a pedestrian who was hit by a car Wednesday died Thursday: Tony Thompson was 57 years old, from Gainesville. A police investigation is ongoing. There is no word on whether the driver that hit him might face charges. 

A manhunt continued through the overnight hours in Rabun County: the Rabun County Sheriff's Office says 44 year-old Terry Williams should be considered armed and dangerous. He ran away from deputies who were called to a domestic disturbance at a home in Lakemont.
