Postal carrier arrested on DUI charge

An Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s deputy makes a traffic stop, arresting a driver on suspicion of DUI. Misti Angle was booked into the county jail, charged with driving drunk while delivering mail for the US Postal Service on Elberton Road in Oglethorpe County.

There is a heads up from the Sheriff in Carnesville: Franklin County Sheriff Steve Thomas says scam artists are calling, claiming that Social Security benefits will be stopped unless a Social Security number is given to the person making the call. Sheriff Thomas says these calls are not coming from the Social Security Administration and are not legitimate.

A Gainesville man is arrested on child porn charges: the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says 44 year-old Mark Wood faces nine counts of distributing child pornography. He was booked into the Hall County jail.

Two men wanted on armed robbery charges are arrested after a high-speed police pursuit in Butts County: the Sheriff’s Office in Jackson says speeds reached 100 miles per hour. The men arrested allegedly held up a convenience store in Butts County.
