The Red Cross says it is helping a total of 23 people who were burned out of their apartments in Hall County earlier this week. There were no injuries in the fire that damaged the Retreat at McEver apartment complex in Gainesville. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Local American Red Cross volunteers from the Northeast Georgia Chapter responded to a fire at the Retreat at McEver apartment complex in Gainesville, Georgia.
Red Cross volunteers, part of the Disaster Action Team, were on the scene to help coordinate emergency aid to those affected. They assisted seven families and a total of 23 people.
The Red Cross provided comfort kits, direct client assistance, and recovery planning to the families to meet their disaster-caused needs.
