Regional notes: UGA student on Jeopardy, Oconee Co teacher honored

University of Georgia student Elijah Odunade is among the three dozen college students from across the country who have been competing in Jeopardy’s National College Championship. Odunade, who is from Norcross, is a political science major at UGA.

Today is the last day of class for students and teachers in Oconee County schools: they are out tomorrow and Monday for winter break. They are back in classrooms in and around Watkinsville on Tuesday of next week.

There is a top honor for a teacher in Oconee County: Erin Just has been named Teacher of the Year by the Georgia Association of Teachers of Family and Consumers Sciences. Just teaches at Oconee County High School.
