Oconee County schools are already making plans for next year’s graduation exercises, saying the May 2024 commencement exercises will be held on campus at Oconee and North Oconee high schools. The University of Georgia says Stegeman Coliseum—traditionally the venue for those high school graduation ceremonies—will be undergoing more construction during the high school graduation season. The work at Stegeman will also force the high schools in Clarke County—Clarke Central and Cedar Shoals—to hold their 2024 graduation exercises in their campus football stadiums.

The Clarke County School District has announced the following plans for its Class of 2024 high school graduation ceremonies:
- Cedar Shoals High School’s graduation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, beginning at 9 a.m. in Waters-Wilkins Stadium on the Cedar Shoals campus.
- Clarke Central High School’s graduation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, beginning at 9 a.m. in Billy Henderson Stadium on the Clarke Central campus.
CCSD had originally intended to resume holding the ceremonies at Stegeman Coliseum on the campus of the University of Georgia. However, UGA has notified the district that the Coliseum will not be available for high school graduations in 2024. The Coliseum has been undergoing roof repairs since March of this year and will resume hosting UGA sporting events next month. However, additional work will begin on the Coliseum in March 2024 following the basketball and gymnastics seasons, making it unavailable for district events.
Weather contingency plans and additional ceremony details for the Cedar Shoals and Clarke Central ceremonies, as well as a date, time, and location for the Classic City High School graduation ceremony, will be announced at a later date as they are finalized.

The 2024 North Oconee and Oconee County graduations will be held on the respective high school campuses as the University of Georgia’s Stegeman Coliseum will not be available. UGA has notified Oconee County Schools that additional construction will be taking place inside Stegeman Coliseum following the basketball and gymnastics seasons in March.
Stegeman Coliseum has been undergoing roof repairs since March of 2023, but will resume hosting UGA sporting events next month.
North Oconee will hold its graduation on Friday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Titan Stadium. The weather make-up date will be Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m.
The Oconee County graduation is slated for Saturday, May 18, at 7:30 p.m. at Warrior Stadium. The weather make-up date will be Sunday, May 19, at 7:30 p.m.
