Summer graduation today in Athens

Today is a graduation day in Athens: summer high school graduates from both Clarke Central and Cedar Shoals high schools will be honored in a 9 o’clock ceremony at the Clarke County School District’s central office on Prince Avenue in Athens.

CCSD is pleased to announce its summer 2023 systemwide high school graduation ceremony for students from Cedar Shoals and Clarke Central high schools who have worked diligently this summer finishing up and satisfying their high school diploma requirements.

The ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 6, in the Vernon Payne Meeting Hall at the CCSD administrative offices building, located at 595 Prince Ave., Athens. The meeting hall will be opened to the public at 8 a.m., one hour prior to the ceremony. No tickets are required, and parking will be available in the District Office parking lot. Both high schools have communicated additional ceremonies to the graduating students and their families.

Spanish-language and American Sign Language interpreters will be on-site for those in need of assistance. For those who are not able to attend in person, the ceremony will be live streamed and available later for on-demand viewing on the CCSD YouTube channel. Photos from the ceremony will be posted to the district’s Facebook page.
