Sunday storm damage in parts of Athens, wind advisory today

The line of thunderstorms that rumbled across the state Sunday afternoon knocked down trees and power lines in Athens: Athens-Clarke County Police say there were also several traffic light malfunctions, and reports of localized street flooding throughout Athens. While the rain has ended, the colder weather is moving, with a wind advisory in place through 10 o'clock tonight.

From WSB Radio meteorologist Kirk Mellish…

Clearing for Monday but temperatures will struggle to reach 60 with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s the next couple nights.

However, a quick rebound to highs in the 70s is due Tuesday into next Saturday, Wednesday may reach 80.

The next significant chance of rain and thunderstorms looks to be next Sunday.
