Terry College MBA program earns high ranking

The Full-Time MBA program at the University of Georgia Terry College of Business is ranked one of the nation’s 12 best public MBA programs by The Economist in its new survey of the 100 best graduate business programs worldwide, called “Which MBA?”

The Georgia MBA ranks No. 12 among public universities in the U.S., No. 28 among all U.S. business schools and No. 36 in the world, according to The Economist survey released June 22.

“We are proud of the professional success our graduates achieve after they graduate from Terry and appreciate what they have to say about the quality of their MBA experience,” said Dean Benjamin C. Ayers. “Our consistently high ranking from The Economist reflects Terry’s commitment to preparing business leaders through our market-driven curriculum, international residency opportunities and learning from outstanding faculty.”

The Economist gave the Georgia MBA program high marks for helping graduates transition to new career opportunities with much higher starting salaries on average. UGA ranked No. 25 worldwide and No. 10 among public business schools in the survey’s measurement of enabling new career opportunities for its students. UGA also ranked No. 7 globally and top 5 in the U.S. for the percentage increase of graduates’ post-MBA salaries.

“Our personalized career management support begins even before students set foot on campus. By understanding our students’ values, experience and ambitions, we help them identify and develop the skills that match their career aspirations,” said Santanu Chatterjee, associate dean for diversity, international and master’s programs and director of the Full-Time MBA and MS in Business Analytics programs in Athens. “Add to it the wide variety of experiential and applied learning opportunities that puts the curriculum into practice and the alumni network into effect, and you can see the key components of our career placement success.”

More than 95% of the MBA Class of 2022 accepted employment offers within three months of graduation. That marked the sixth consecutive year the full-time program’s employment rate exceeded 90%. The previous graduating class in 2021 reported an average starting salary of $110,789 with an average signing bonus just under $20,000.

The Economist’s ranking methodology is based on the survey responses of thousands of MBA students worldwide, as well as salary data, standardized test scores and measures of faculty quality provided by the schools. The complete ranking and methodology is available on the “Which MBA?” website.
