Today is deadline day at the Classic Center

Today’s April 15 tax filing deadline is not the only deadline day in Athens. Today is the last day to apply for the Classic Center’s Hospitality Career Academy.

Time is running out! Applications for The Classic Center’s Hospitality Careers Academy will close on April 15, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. Students interested in getting a behind-the-scenes look at the hospitality industry can apply to The Classic Center’s Hospitality Careers Academy, which will take place June 23-June 27, 2024.

HCA provides opportunities for attendees to get hands-on learning when planning an event. Students will gain experience in hospitality, marketing, culinary, event planning, stage production, and more.

· HCA is a week-long program open to 9th through 12th-grade students from Georgia interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality and tourism industry. The application deadline will be April 15, 2024, by 5:00 p.m.

· HCA students will have the opportunity to listen to guest speakers in the hospitality and tourism industry, participate in job shadowing and industry tours, and take part in team building and leadership activities- all while working towards a finishing capstone project for The Classic Center Cultural Foundation’s Celebration of the Arts.

· HCA requires acceptance through a competitive application process that includes a completed application, an essay question, three recommendations, school transcripts, and a personal interview. Applications can be found at ClassicCenter.com/HCA.
