The University of Georgia, in court filings stemming from a deadly January car crash in Athens, is denying allegations that the University is liable for the wreck that claimed the lives of Bulldog football player Devin Willock and UGA football recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy. The accident on Barnett Shoals Road injured two others and has led to lawsuits from the Willock family and from one of the survivors of the crash.

In its filing, UGA places partial blame on the woman who filed the lawsuit, another football recruiting staffer named Victoria Bowles, who suffered serious injuries in the accident.

Former Bulldog All-American Jalen Carter, now with the Philadelphia Eagles, is also responding to a lawsuit: through his attorneys, Carter is denying allegations that he was racing with LeCroy at the time of the deadly accident.

Initial reports said Carter left the scene of the accident, another claim that is denied by Carter and his attorneys.
