Athens-Clarke County Police are asking for help from the public in finding the shooter who wounded two young girls--ages 14 and 5--in a Wednesday afternoon incident on North Avenue.

On April 26, 2023, at approximately 5:03PM, officers responded to a shopping center in the 400 block of North Avenue regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two juveniles with injuries. A 5-year-old female had an injury to her face. At this time, it is unclear if the injury was the result of a gunshot wound, bullet fragment, or shattered glass. A 14-year-old female had a gunshot wound to the arm. Both girls were transported by EMS to a local hospital.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons involved in this incident.
