Update: California cops say Gainesville suspect may be linked to other crimes

Aloysius James, the 57 year-old man arrested last week in Hall County, is charged in a 1988 murder in California and now may be linked to other crimes there.

From the Georgia News Network...

In September of 1988, law enforcement found 30 year old Ofelia Sandoval dead in a hotel in Santa Maria, California. The case went cold until recent developments lead authorities to 57 year old Aloysius Winthrop James. Hall County deputies booked James into the jail last week after he was arrested at a home in Gainesville.

It’s not clear how long James has lived in Gainesville. He is awaiting extradition back to California.

Santa Maria detectives say they believe the suspect may be responsible for other unreported crimes from the time he spent as a resident there.
