Virtual school years coming to a close

The Oconee County school year comes to a close this week: Oconee County students have been taking classes on-line since the outbreak of coronavirus two months ago. Tomorrow is also the last day of the virtual classes in the Elbert County School District. Those schools, like most around the state, will be holding virtual graduation exercises for this year’s senior class. Some are making plans for in-person commencement that could be held in the summer.

The Clarke County School District says links to virtual graduation ceremonies for seniors at Clarke Central, Cedar Shoals, and Classic City high schools will be available on Friday: the District says the events are not live and can be viewed on-demand.
