New Voting Districts

o As a result of redistricting earlier this year, a number of Athens-Clarke County voters will be in new State House & Senate Districts for the 2022 elections. Current district boundaries remain in effect through December 31, 2022 and new district boundaries will take effect on January 1, 2023. However, the new boundaries will be used in determining an eligible voter’s ballot and candidate choices in the November 8 election.

o Use ACCGov’s online voting district search tool (at www.accgov.com/elections) or the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page (mvp.sos.ga.gov) to look up your:

o State House & Senate Districts

o U.S. Congressional District

o Voting Precinct & Location

o New precinct cards were mailed beginning in May to every registered voter in Athens-Clarke County with voting district information for the November election. Voters can also view and download their precinct card online by using the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page website at mvp.sos.ga.gov.

Sample Ballots

o Sample composite ballots are available on the Elections website (www.accgov.com/elections), by mail, or in the Elections Office. These ballots show every race and candidate for Athens-Clarke County, not individuals’ ballots.

o Registered voters can view and download an individualized sample ballot on the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov to see only the races and candidates that will be on their ballot.

Absentee Ballots

o Applications for absentee ballots are available in the Elections Office or at www.accgov.com/elections.

o Absentee ballots can also be applied for online through the My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov.

o The last day to apply for an absentee ballot is Friday, October 28 by email, fax, in person, or mail.

o Voted absentee ballots are due to the Elections Office by 7 PM on Election Day (November 8) by mail or in person through a secure drop box. The secure drop box is located inside the Elections Office through November 4.

o To check the status of an application for your Absentee Ballot, when your ballot was mailed, or if your voted ballot has been returned, view the Georgia My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
