Athens-Clarke County Police say a woman is facing charges after a deadly car crash that happened earlier this summer: counts against Keosha Martin include second degree vehicular homicide. Charges stem from a June 17 wreck on Cherokee Road in Athens. Police say the Madison County woman’s car crossed a center line and hit a car driven by a 70 year-old woman from Oglethorpe County. Linda Motichek was killed in the accident.

From the ACCPD...

On June 17, 2023, at approximately 6:56 AM, ACCPD responded to a two-vehicle crash on the 1700 block of Cherokee Road. The initial investigation reveals that a 2006 Honda Accord driven by Keosha Martin (38, Hull, GA) was traveling northbound on Cherokee Road when it crossed over the center lane line and collided with a 1999 Toyota Corolla traveling southbound.

The driver of the Corolla, Linda Motichek (70 YOA, Winterville, GA, Oglethorpe County), was deceased at the scene. Martin was taken to a local hospital with multiple injuries that did not appear life-threatening. A juvenile in the Accord was also transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

ACCPD continues its investigation into the crash and asks anyone with information to contact Master Police Officer Denmark at 762-400-7364 or shawn.denmark@accgo.com.
