Another day, another shooting in Athens: Athens-Clarke County Police say injuries to a teenager who was shot on Burkland Lane are not considered life-threatening. The 18 year-old was, at last report, in an Athens hospital and police were searching for a suspect.
The GBI is investigating in Elbert County, where a 63 year-old man has been arrested on heroin charges: Michael Burden was booked into the Elbert County Detention Center.
There is a GBI investigation after an officer-involved shooting in Franklin County: a Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy fired shots at an SUV after its driver allegedly tried to run over the deputy and then fled a traffic stop. The driver was, at last report, still at-large.
The police investigation continues in Gainesville, where a pedestrian was hit by an SUV. The man died after being taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
