He lost his seat on the City Council in Comer by 21 of the 79 votes that were cast on November 2; now Eddie West is alleging election fraud and wants the election results tossed out. West was beaten by challenger Michael Wilder in the voting that took place earlier this month. A hearing in Madison County Superior Court in Danielsville is scheduled for tomorrow.
Today is runoff election day in two cities in Madison County: voters in Colbert and Carlton will settle City Council contests that ended in ties in elections held back on November 2.
There is also a City Council runoff in Winder, and there is a closely watched mayoral runoff in Atlanta, where City Council president Felicia Moore and Councilman Andre Dickens are racing to replace outgoing Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. The polls that open at 7 o’clock this morning are scheduled to close at 7 o’clock tonight, except in Atlanta, where they remain open until 8.
