Authorities searching for man after wife found dead in their house

PALM DESERT, Calif. — Officials are searching for a man after his wife was found dead in a Riverside County, California, house last Wednesday.

In a news release, Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said around 9 a.m. on Wednesday deputies were called to a house in Palm Desert for a welfare check for a woman who did not show up to work that morning. Once deputies got inside the house, they found a dead woman who had significant injuries.

The woman was identified as Sandra Mayor, 57, according to KTLA. Investigators were unable to track down Mayor’s husband, Thomas Daniels, 53. Daniels has been named as a person of interest.

Daniels is described as a white man about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs about 155 pounds, and has brown hair and hazel eyes, according to the news outlet.

Officials say his whereabouts are unknown and if spotted, people should not try to contact or detain him.
