ATLANTA — Atlanta Braves designated hitter Jurickson Profar is facing a 162-game suspension after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug for the second time.

Under Major League Baseball’s drug policy, a second violation carries a full-season ban. Profar will lose his salary for the season and be ineligible for postseason play.

This marks his second suspension under the league’s performance-enhancing drug program.
