Temperatures fall below freezing, black ice reported on some roads

Black ice in Sandy Springs

Temperatures will be very cold through the weekend -- and it’s cold enough to cause some roads to ice over.

Any snow that’s still left on the ground from Christmas will likely stick around as temperatures will hover in the 20s and 30s overnight into Saturday morning.

Sandy Springs officials said a water main break caused part of Johnson Ferry Road from Abernathy to the Chattahoochee River to ice over. Crews say to use caution as “black ice is probable in that area.”
