City Hall says a long list of Athens-Clarke County government services are suspended for at least part of the Thanksgiving holiday, with garbage pickup schedules altered, Leisure Services facilities closed Thursday and Friday, and the Athens-Clarke County Animal Shelter closing through Friday.

Animal Services
- The Animal Shelter will be closed Thurs., Nov. 23 and Fri., Nov. 24, resuming regular hours on Sat., Nov. 25.
- Animal Services officers will not be available for non-emergency calls on Thurs., Nov. 23 through Sun., Nov. 26. Non-emergency service calls will resume on Mon., Nov. 27.
- Emergency services – such as an animal bite, a seriously sick or injured animal, or an animal trapped inside a living space of a home - will be provided throughout the holiday by calling 911.

Leisure Services
- All facilities will close on Thurs., Nov. 23 and Fri., Nov. 24 and reopen on Sat., Nov. 25 under regular hours of operation.
- Parks are closed on Thurs., Nov. 23. They will be open on Fri., Nov. 24 from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM, but buildings will remain closed.

Solid Waste
- Residential and commercial (outside the Downtown district) garbage and recycling collected by the Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will not be collected on Thurs., Nov. 23 and Fri., Nov. 24. Garbage and recycling will be collected on the following schedule:
- Regular Monday collection will be collected on Mon., Nov. 20.
- Regular Tuesday and Wednesday collections will be collected on Tue., Nov. 21.
- Regular Thursday and Friday collections will be collected on Wed., Nov. 22.
- Residential and commercial (inside the Downtown district) garbage and recycling service will be collected as regularly scheduled.
- Leaf & Limb will be suspended the week of Nov. 20, resuming collection on Mon., Nov. 27 in area F. The collection area is subject to change based on the final collection from the week of November 13 - see accgov.com/leaflimb for updates.
- The landfill will be closed on Thurs., Nov. 23 and Fri., Nov. 24, resuming regular hours on Sat., Nov. 25.
- The CHaRM is closed on Thursdays and Fridays. It will open on Sat., Nov. 25 as regularly scheduled.
- Solid Waste offices will be closed Thurs., Nov. 23 and Fri., Nov. 24, resuming regular hours on Mon., Nov. 27.
- The Materials Recycling Facility will be closed Thurs., Nov. 23, resuming regular hours on Fri., Nov. 24.

Transit
- Transit offices will be closed on Thurs., Nov. 23 and Fri., Nov. 24.
- There will be no Transit service on Thurs., Nov. 23.
