Two men are facing charges in Panama City, Florida, after police said they got into a machete fight in a Publix parking lot.
WMBB reported that Everette Krichbabum, 52, was in his car when James Gay, 35, approached him to confront him about a previous issue. WJHG said it was over an ex-girlfriend. The pair then got into an argument.
Kirchbabum pulled out a hatchet to get Gay to leave him alone. Gay went to his vehicle and grabbed a machete and approached the other man.
As Krichbabum saw Gay get close, he grabbed a sheathed knife. Gay then allegedly hit Kirchbabum with the sheathed machete. The two struggled and both had injuries to their hands.
Gay said he hit Krichbabum in the face with the machete. He also said he hit Krichbabum in the head and stomped him while he was on the ground. Police said Krichbabum lost consciousness.
Gay had been in prison, serving 12 years of a 15-year sentence for aggravated battery in a “Vampire Cult” murder from 2011.
Both men are charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, WJHG reported.
